- Caffeine: I love it, and it’s a small thing, but it brings me so much happiness and usually peace.
- Walking: It’s something to keep you moving, and I can clear my thoughts for the most part, or I can put headphones in and block out thoughts I’d like to not have or think about at the time. I also use this as a meditation exercise sometimes if I need more time or am calmer.
- Reading: Even if it’s for five minutes, it lifts stress from my shoulders, and I can experience something I normally wouldn’t or may be impossible to experience through the main characters. It’s like having a mini vacation from being me.
- Writing: Even if it’s a few sentences, at the end of the day, it lets out something I could have been holding in all day, and I’m able to relax a bit better and tend to sleep better when I do write.
- Yoga/Pilates: I’m not too fond of exercising; however, yoga doesn’t feel like exercising, and it lets me clear my thoughts more than walking and meditation. Ive been mixing in some squats and things to help the negative feeling I hold with regular workouts, and it’s been helping keep me sane while looking for work and having too many thoughts.
Till Next Time,
Meg
