The past week feels like a bit of a blur. I was with wee man and Mint and we were watching movies, playing games, cooking, going for walks and crafting.
We went to a local pathway and toured it, while there we found a bunch of birds and wee man made friends with someone and they shared some seeds with us to feed the birds. We saw chickadees, a cardinal, some squirrels, chipmunks, and a rabbit. The walk was a little slushy still but so worth it, the paths can take you up to 2 hours or even longer depending on how fast you walk, there are multiple paths, and they are all interconnected, and on one of the paths, there’s a farm nearby its just so cute and a great way for kids to learn about animals and get some sunshine/fresh air.
While we stopped at one of the bigger feeding spots, a chickadee flew onto my head to check and see if I put seeds on my head and was disappointed when they found none, wee man found it hilarious, and we, unfortunately, didn’t get it captured as the camera was looking at all the birds jumping from the branches to wee man’s hand. Wee man looking like a Disney character, all that’s needed is an animal sidekick, an amazing soundtrack, a villain and a thorough background story; it’s something im never going to forget. The joy and happiness on wee man’s face and the sound of the birds flying, the wind in the trees, the sound of snow and slush it just made for a beautiful hour or so.
We had a lovely time, and it was a break from the games/activities we were doing (animal crossing, painting, colouring, watching movies, doing experiments). I hope its something he will remember as he grows older, if he forgets I will remind him with the video and stories.
