Meditation

Ive been trying to meditate before sleep as im reading a book called The Queen of Distraction: How Women with ADHD Can Conquer Chaos, Find Focus and Get more done, and it’s been a good read. Ive learned some things, and ive applied some of it to what im doing daily.

One thing it mentions that works for some is meditation; now ive been going into it with an open mind, and I can kind of do it but its not something that comes easy for me; I try to mix it into yoga or when I have a shower as that seems to be the easiest for me. When I do yoga, I put on the presenting Yoga Lin playlist, and that helps me to focus and clear any negative or intrusive thoughts and just enjoy the sounds of the instruments, and the voice is just delightful! It’s the closest I get to clearing my mind and just sitting quietly with very little twitching.

It feels somewhat strange to say that I can kind of meditate, and it’s nice to see that even though it doesn’t feel like much work has been done. It’s going to be a slow process and lots of work, but im getting there with baby steps, like getting a proper sleep schedule, getting better at cooking, and learning in general.

Thats all the words I have flowing today, so ill be off; I hope you had a wonderful day and are enjoying a quiet moment if your day was busy.

Till Next Time,

Meg

Great on you for embarking on this. I have enjoyed meditation, but weirdly enough, I also do get weird symptoms when I maintain the habit over six months or so. Can’t explain it, but I do appreciate the separation between mind and self. Wishing you all the best!

I may not continue it but I thought adding it to something im already doing might make it seem less daunting
