Im writing this outside under an umbrella, in a comfy chair, listening to the bird’s chirp, water going by and having our cherry tree petals fly around in the wind. Its a windy day here and it’s quite a lovely day and great for relaxing and doing yard work (wearing sunscreen, we dont want to get burned or raise our chances of skin cancer). As im sitting here I got to thinking there are some little things that we take for granted every day, sounds and smells. They can make moments seem sweeter, bring back memories, and prove that no matter where you are something can bring you back to a time you may have forgotten. I happen to love more than a few food-related smells, it makes me think of my grandmothers (and my great grandmother!) and visiting them for a short or a long time. With that in mind let’s to the scents!
